Join us for an evening of laughter and philanthropy at our Comedy Show fundraiser. This year, the event takes on a special significance as we've already achieved our goal of funding the Aidan J Foster Memorial Scholarship for 2024, thanks to the generosity of our amazing donors.

In addition to supporting the scholarship, funds raised will go towards bringing in new programs devoted to our youth and providing resources for our school counselors. These initiatives aim to empower our young minds, foster connections among students, and ensure their well-being.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduced common mental health challenges for youth, reviewed typical adolescent development, and taught a 5-step action plan to help young people in crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including ADHD), and eating disorders. Shine Through and ABC Play offered a Youth Mental Health First Aid class on Dec 18, 2023. This class was available to all Gates County teachers and counselors. We had 21 staff members participate. Thank you to those staff members for making our youth a priority. For those unable to attend, we plan to host another class in the spring. Stay tuned for updates.
